Let’s dream of a better world together

A little bit about me

My name is Manassaline (mah-naza-lin)

My journey began in Liberia. i was born amidst a civil war and at the age of four my mother, a dreamer herself, made the difficult decision to leave me behind and pursue a better life in America for us. shortly after i was moved to live on a refugee camp in ghana. Against all odds, she succeeded and paved the way for me to move to america.

My new life was born from a sense of overcoming adversity. I worked tirelessly to achieve the life I believed society expected of me. Then I made it, I was living what i believed to be my dream; an apartment in Washington DC, a calico cat,  a prestigious job at an all-black women-led company – only to realize that I was terribly unhappy. This was because I was living someone else’s life and not mine. I didn't know what I actually wanted for my life and this was deeply unsettling and disturbing for me.

I decided to create a presentation of myself to myself. i broke down my life into all the sections I could think of and wrote down my dreams for each section. Seeing my dreams in front of me like that resonated in a way I can hardly explain. Because it was me. The true me.

I started to look at my presentation daily as being this close to my dreams was something that comforted me to the depths of my soul. Before I knew it, I’d quit my job and began focusing my energy on my passion, designing which was a dream for me. Shortly after, I created the “Virtual Protest 101” which circulated virally and helped people use their online presence to protest for George Floyd. It continued and soon after I was packing my bags to relocate to Bali, another dream. Soon after that, I met the love of my life and now we are dreaming together

I have many more dreams and my story is still unfolding. I realized this was all because I had learned to ask and believe. I identified these dreams in my presentation to myself and I was looking at them daily. That presentation has now become the Dream Capsule you are learning about today. It is my Dream that you identify, manifest and preserve your dreams. Consider this Kickstarter your personal invitation to STArT DREAMING NOW!
